Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Twisted River Farms, LLC (“Twisted River Farms,” “we,” “us,” “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on twistedriverfarms.com (the “Site”). It supplements our Privacy Policy. By using the Site, you agree to the use of cookies as described here, subject to the choices we offer through our cookie banner and the controls described below.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit. They let the site remember things about you and your visit — like what is in your shopping cart, whether you are logged in, and which preferences you have set. “Cookies” in this Policy also refers to similar technologies such as local storage and pixel tags, where they are used.

2. How We Use Cookies

Twisted River Farms uses cookies to make the Site work correctly, to remember your choices, and to understand at a high level how the Site is being used so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you, and we do not allow advertising networks to track you across other websites through our Site. As of the effective date of this Policy, Twisted River Farms does not deploy Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager containers, advertising pixels, UTM tracking, or any other third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide clear notice and choice before any new tracking cookie or pixel is enabled.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

Our cookies fall into the following categories. The exact cookie names and durations may change as we update the Site; the categories below describe the purpose of each one.

Strictly Necessary (Functional)

These cookies are required for the Site to work and cannot be turned off. They are set by WordPress and WooCommerce when you take core actions on the Site — for example, adding an item to your cart, signing into your account, or moving through checkout. Without them, the cart and account features will not work. Examples of what they do:

  • Remember the contents of your shopping cart between pages.
  • Keep you signed in to your account during a visit.
  • Maintain a session and protect against cross-site request forgery.
  • Remember whether you have confirmed you are 21 or older.

Preferences

These cookies remember choices you make on the Site so we can give you a smoother experience next time. Examples:

  • Remembering your cookie-consent selection so we don’t show the banner on every visit.
  • Remembering items in your wishlist between visits.
  • Remembering display preferences such as language or region within the United States.

Statistics

These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site — which pages are popular, where people get stuck, how the Site performs — so we can improve it. The metrics we look at are aggregate and not used to identify you personally. As noted above, Twisted River Farms does not currently deploy any third-party analytics platform.

Marketing

Marketing cookies would be used to deliver and measure advertising or to track you across other sites for advertising purposes. Twisted River Farms does not currently use any marketing cookies, advertising pixels, retargeting tools, or third-party trackers, and we will not enable them silently in the future. If we ever begin using marketing cookies, we will update this Policy, present them as off by default in our cookie banner, and only set them after you opt in.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some pages on the Site may include content embedded from social platforms (for example, Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube), which can set their own cookies when their content loads on a page. We do not control those cookies. You can review and manage them through your browser settings or through the relevant platform’s privacy controls.

Our payment processor 2Accept may set cookies on the secure portion of the checkout flow that they operate, in order to process your transaction safely. Their cookie practices are governed by 2Accept’s own privacy and cookie policies on their website.

5. Your Choices

You have several ways to manage cookies on the Site:

  • Cookie banner. The first time you visit the Site, our cookie banner gives you the option to accept all categories, deny non-essential categories, or open “View preferences” to set your choices category by category.
  • Reopen the banner. You can change your choices at any time by clicking the “Manage consent” link on the Site.
  • Browser settings. Every modern browser lets you block, delete, or limit cookies. The exact steps depend on your browser — search your browser’s help documentation for “cookies” for current instructions.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information and any targeted advertising. Because we do not currently sell, share, or run targeted advertising, this signal already lines up with our default behavior.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will affect the Site — in particular, the shopping cart, login, and checkout will not work. Blocking the other categories will not prevent you from shopping, but parts of the Site may behave differently.

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no industry-wide standard for how to interpret it, Twisted River Farms does not respond to Do Not Track signals specifically. We do honor Global Privacy Control signals as described above, and our default practices already align with the substance of those signals.

7. Children

The Site is not directed to children, and purchases require an adult age 21 or older. We do not knowingly use cookies to collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has used the Site, please contact us at orders@twistedriverfarms.com and we will take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on the Site with the “Last updated” date above. If we make a material change — for example, if we begin using a new category of cookie or a new analytics or advertising tool — we will update this Policy and our Privacy Policy and provide notice on the Site before that change takes effect.
